THE ROLE OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST
The role of a physical therapist, otherwise known as PT is to assist patients in achieving optimal function and pain relief and to assist their physical recovery and re-entry into the community, home, and work environment at the highest possible level of independence and self-sufficiency.
PT (Physical Therapist)
Job Description:
- perform necessary physical therapy techniques and procedures on patients as prescribed by the physician
- treating patients by the use of physical agents to help overcome pain and disability
- maintenance of records and statistical information relating to physical therapy treatments
- training patients and their families in the use and care of rehabilitation equipments for
home care treatment
OT (Occupational Therapist)
Job Description:
- carries out the treatment plan of the physican
- evaluate the patient to determine the level of ability and disability
- train the patient in self-care and other activities of daily living
- fabrication of splints, slings and other assistive devices
- training in work hardening program
